Before you start this wonderful recipe, it is important to know that all the ingredients must be fresh and at room temperature. It should also be warm in the kitchen and it is not advisable to keep the window open. Another important thing is to have the mayo ready and allowed to grow.
In addition, it is not recommended to add too much filling, as this prevents the cozonacs from baking on the inside and you may be reluctant to find that they have remained raw. Below we will present the ingredients you need and how to prepare them.
Traditional cake recipe
- 500 g of warm milk
- 200 g of sugar
- 100 ml of melted butter
- 100 ml of oil
- five yolks
- two yeast cubes

Method of preparation

Knead for about 30 minutes. Then gradually add the melted butter and stir continuously. Put the vanilla essence on top, and the dough starts to beat very well by hand. It can also lift and hit. Leave to rise, covered with a clean towel, for about an hour.
How to make the cake filling? Well, in a bowl add ground walnuts, cocoa and mix. Top with powdered sugar, milk and mix until smooth.
The raised dough is divided into two equal pieces. Grease the table with a little oil and spread the first piece very well with your hand. In the center add the composition we obtained above, stretch and add shit and raisins from place to place. The cake is rolled and left to rise in a tray lined with baking paper. Also cover with a towel and leave for about 20 minutes. Do the same with the second half of the dough.
